Welcome
On behalf of all the staff, the children and Governors, I would like to warmly welcome you to Barley Mow Primary School. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful school building, which is fully accessible to all.
At Barley Mow we aim to create a happy, caring and supportive ethos in which every child is valued and given the opportunity to realise their full potential. We have high academic, social, sporting, cultural and behavioural standards and we are extremely proud of the achievements of our children.
Children are at the centre of everything we do. We aim to foster a love of learning which we hope will stay with them throughout their lives.
The family community of Barley Mow is central to our beliefs. Families and the wider community play a vital role as co-educators and we encourage close links between home and school.

Programming
This term Year 1 have been learning how to programme as part of our computing unit ‘Maze Explorers.’ These skills came in very handy in maths this week when learning positional language and directing the BeeBots around the garden! Super hard work Year 1, well done!

Telling the time
Year 1 have been learning to tell the time on an analogue clock when it is o’clock or half past times. We read times on the class clock and made given times on our own mini clocks.
Amazing Amazon Animals!
Year 4 have worked very hard to research, write and present information about their chosen animal from the Amazon rainforest.They made sure to make their reports interesting, informative and engaging with lots of facts, description and alliteration.
Shipley Art Gallery
Year 5 visited Shipley Art Gallery on 5th June as part of our Design and Technology topic on textiles. We had an amazing time exploring, sketching and handling local crafts. We then made felt and added our own designs, which looked fabulous.
