As part of their place value unit in maths, Year Four spent some time understanding flexible partitioning of 4-digit numbers. They were able to use part-whole models and place value counters to help them partition the numbers in a range of different ways.

In maths we have been learning to represent numbers to 1,000 in different ways. We used base 10 equipment to make 3 digit numbers and used it to help us partition the numbers into hundreds, tens and ones.

Year 2 have made a super start in their maths lessons this week learning numbers to 100. Today the children played a game in pairs. One had to build a number using base ten and the other had to count the tens and ones to check if they were right.

Year 6 have been using their reasoning skills this morning to create a range of 7 digit number but only using 7 counters. They had to find the largest and smallest possible number using their counters before explaining their reasoning.
