We loved having Guy from Bugs n’ Stuff come to visit us in school during our Science Week. Every class had the opportunity to look, touch and hold a wide variety of creatures – a giant millipede, cockroaches, a gecko and a python to name just a few! We saw how a scorpion glowed under UV light and also learned that a scorpion is venomous rather than poisonous. Guy taught us a simple rule for telling the difference – if you eat it and you die then it’s poisonous, but if it bites/stings you and then you die then it’s venomous. It was fascinating to see these unusual creatures so close and was fascinating to learn more about them.
