In Science, the children in Year 5 are studying the topic ‘Properties and Changes of Materials’. They have been learning about soluble and insoluble materials and how mixtures can be separated. They have enjoyed investigating using filtering, evaporation and sieving to separate mixtures of materials.
The children have also explored reversible and irreversible changes. They looked at how burning creates an irreversible change as a new material is created.
