Following our trip to the farm, we were very excited and inspired about what we had seen. We used this excitement to inspire our learning this week.
In our tuff tray, we sorted animals into ‘live on a farm’ and ‘do not live on a farm’  categories. We strengthened our fine motor muscles by unwrapping animals that were stuck in elastic bands. We read the story, ‘What the Ladybird Heard‘ which inspired lots of map making and positional language discussion.
We made our own sun catchers to put on the window and observed the reflections which were created. Within the provision, we explored using potatoes to create ladybird bodies and added dots using cotton buds. Within the tuft tray, we explored ladybird puzzles with numicon, where we had to flip and turn the pieces to make them fit.  Outside, we enjoyed looking for ladybirds with magnifying glasses. One of our friends found one at home and we were able to use these picture to discuss ladybirds further. We used the internet to find out more information about ladybirds and now know that ladybirds come from an egg and they do not start their life red.
