Today in maths, we explored how to find unit fractions of different amounts. A unit fractions is a fraction where the numerator is 1, such as 1/2, 1/3 or 1/4.

We learned that to find a unit fraction of a number, we simply divide the total amount by the denominator. For example, to find one third of 15, we divided 15 by 3.
To help us understand this, we used cubes and whiteboards. We drew groups on our boards and then shared the cubes equally between the groups. This method made it easier to see how the number was divided and helped us understand the concept of fractions more clearly.
