As part of our Geography unit, ‘Why does population change?’, the children in Year 6 had to undertake fieldwork to answer the enquiry question, ‘How is population impacting our environment?’
The children collected data on traffic and litter in two locations within the local environment. The methods used were tally charts to record the amount of traffic, sound recordings to compare noise levels and Likert scales to make judgements about the quality of the environment.
Following the fieldwork process, the children then wrote reports which analysed their findings and made suggestions to improve the situation.
