As part of our geography unit about our local area, year 1 have been thinking about the towns and cities near us. Many of us have visited Newcastle, Sunderland or Durham. We talked about some of the human and physical features that we would expect to find in a city. Then we used the NUSTEM loan boxes to build our own city complete with roads, a train line and station, houses, shops, hotels and even an airport!
