After School Yoga 🫶🏻

by Miss Todd | Jul 7, 2023 | PE, PSHE, School Clubs, Year 1, Year 2

Some boys and girls from key stage one have had some after school fun and really enjoyed our yoga club. Yoga is a really good way to increase our strength and balance, help us sleep better and support our posture. This club has benefitted our children after a busy school day and after working hard at our desks, supporting us to relax, calm our bodies and breathing down and help relieve any stress. We practised different postures including Warrior pose, tree pose, boat pose, downward dog, bridge and snake pose which are all really good at building muscles and increasing flexibility. Afterwards we had some time for ourselves to just lie down on our backs, close our eyes and unwind, letting go of any stress or worries we may of had from the day. We also spoke about the three main themes of yoga and meditation which we can use throughout our school day which are stay calm, keep breathing and think happy positive thoughts. Everyone worked extremely hard and learned how focusing on our breathing helps us focus on the present and reduces negative emotions. Namaste! 🫶🏻
