In Year 5, the children have been analysing the poem, The River, by Valerie Bloom.
To support their understanding of the poem, the children explored the vocabulary and features within it before writing a critical review of the poem. Many of the children commented that they enjoyed the use of metaphors and personification to explore the behaviour of a river.
