This week nursery have loved learning all about Chinese New Year. We started off our learning by reading the story: ‘The Great Race’. From this story we learned that 2025 is the year of the snake. We watched videos which told us all about how Chinese New Year is celebrated. We loved the dragon and the parade. This inspired us to make our own dragon and have a parade. We set off in the creative area using our knowledge of model building to create instruments. We made shakers, drums and guitars. Nursery worked as a team to colour in a face for our dragon. We then used our home made instruments and school instruments and played amazing music while parading outside, we had so much fun! In the provision we loved exploring Chinese writing and making our own marks in glitter. Our role play changed into a Chinese restaurant and we loved taking orders for our friends and preparing food for them.
