In our Geography topic this term, the children in Year 5 have been learning about where energy comes from.
They have identified sources of energy and learned about trading routes around the world, understanding that countries import and export energy.
The children have been able to define renewable and non-renewable energy and have explored why countries are now increasing their use of renewable energy.
When investigating how the UK generates energy, the children learned how to use 6-figure grid references on an OS map to identify features.
As the children continue their learning, they will carry out fieldwork in our school grounds around finding the best location for a solar panel.
