This week in nursery we have reading the story ‘pumpkin soup’. This was a new story for us, we enjoyed using our predicting skills to discuss what might happen next in the story. We used this story to inspire a cooking activity and we made our own soup! We discussed the importance of washing our hands before touching food. Nursery worked hard to follow a set of instructions to make the soup, we cut, cooked and blended the soup until it was smooth! After tasting the soup we discussed as a group who did/ did not like it. We discovered more friends liked it than did not like it. We enjoyed exploring some pumpkin soup inspired activities around our classroom during choosing time. We strengthened our fine motor muscles by hammering pegs into pumpkins. We were making spooky potions in the water tray and re-enacting ‘trick or treat’ in our halloween home corner! We loved using our smart board to colour in our own pumpkins! Outside we enjoyed designing our own pumpkins and playing pumpkin bowling.
