Reception this week have been learning all about the famous abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky. Kandinsky would listen to music and different sounds, then represent the emotion and how it made him feel in his paintings, using different colours and shapes. Kandinsky believed every colour had a feeling, sensation or sound. Kandinsky also considered that certain shapes showed different emotions and used triangles to show angry feelings and pastel coloured circles as calm feelings. Reception had fun completing their own Kandinsky paintings, as well as looking at the different properties of shapes, discussing what they noticed about triangles and circles, which is what Wassily Kandinsky mainly used in his artwork.
