In Science, Year 5 are studying the topic Earth and Beyond. The children have explored the orbits of the Earth and the Moon and they worked together to create their own model of these celestial bodies.
After identifying how day and night is created through the rotation of planet Earth, the children investigated the question: ‘What will happen to the length and definition of a shadow as the day progresses?’
They enjoyed measuring the shadows throughout the day and will plot their results in a graph in a later lesson.
