On Thursday 4th July, Year 5 enjoyed a visit to Northumbria University. Our day started with group challenges, where we had to use a variety of skills to build structures using “octons”. We then met students currently studying at the university and toured the campus. After lunch we discussed the effect that humans are having on the environment and how we can address this. We looked at the lifecycles of a bicycle and a Starbucks cup to see how recycling can alter the environment impact. It was a really interesting day and we agreed university looks like a lot of fun!
