Whole School Art Day
In conjunction with The National Gallery in London, on Friday, Barley Mow Primary School pupils once again took part in the annual Take One Picture art project. This involves studying an art work from the gallery’s collection alongside other schools across the country. This year we really enjoyed conducting an in depth study of A Courtyard of a House in Delft by Dutch artist Pieter de Hooch.
All classes, from Nursery to Year 6, took part in a range of different fun and creative activities, inspired by the painting. We discussed, listened to soundscapes, learnt about the artist, sketched, printed, painted, cut, stuck and sculpted, using a range of media to develop our skills.
Both children and staff had a lovely day and I’m sure you will agree, we produced some amazing art work
