Year 3 had a workshop led by staff from The Royal Horticultural Society. The children discussed habitats and what creatures we might find outdoors. The children went outside and picked an animal before taking a photograph of a possible habitat. They discussed what other animals may live in those habitats and described the area. The following activity allowed the children to explore grass, looking at the roots, leaves, stem and flower. The children then had to explore our grounds to find as many different types of leaves as possible within the grass. As a class we found 10 leaves on our field which meant we can now describe it as a meadow.
