Reception have enjoyed learning all about the season, Spring. We have been on a Spring hunt in our outdoor area, created spring paintings of blossom trees and flowers, explored our farm shop role play area and lots more! Reception have been focusing on the story ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. We enjoyed creating a class story map and then our own, we made beanstalks in the play dough area and explored our Jack and the Beanstalk set up in the small world area. Reception used the artist Vincent Van Gogh’s painting of sunflowers as inspiration for their own painting. We have been exploring length and height in maths. Reception measured themselves and other objects and used language relating to length and height to describe them. We have been learning about capital letters and matching them to their corresponding lowercase letter.
