for the past 2 weeks, Reception have been learning all about under the sea. We learnt some interesting facts about different sea creatures. We read the story ‘Somebody Swallowed Stanley’ and shared ideas about how we can take care of the ocean. We created different sea creatures using play dough, paper plates, colouring pens, stickle bricks and duplo. Reception have been using their phonic knowledge to label their models and pictures. We created tangrams of different sea creatures using 2D shapes. Reception have been completing different paintings on our interactive whiteboard using the PurpleMash programme. Finally, in topic, we discussed maps. We looked at which parts are land and which parts are sea. We sorted the animals into their habitats, land or sea and coloured in our own maps.
