Reception have been learning all about space. Our focus text has been ‘How to Catch a Star’ by Oliver Jeffers. This story inspired us to write a list of items we might want to take to space with us! We have been very busy in our class as our provision included making out own rockets using junk modelling resources, using the interactive whiteboard to design a rocket, designing and building aliens, threading beads to match the numeral on the star, number rockets 0-10 and completing a space jigsaw. We used a ‘Starry Night’ by Vincent Van Gogh as inspiration in the art area.
