Reception have been exploring the season of Winter for the past two weeks. We have enjoyed exploring the ice outdoors, creating a moving penguin with split pins, using PurpleMash to decorate our own penguin or polar bear and exploring our icy small world tuff tray. Reception have also been focusing on the story ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers. They created missing posters for the penguin and retold the story using a story map. We discussed where penguins live and focused particularly on Antarctica. We used google maps to explore where Antarctica is located on planet Earth. Reception have enjoyed colour mixing, matching phase 3 words to pictures, exploring our space station and play-dough area.
