In our Geography unit, ‘Where does our energy come from?’ we have been learning about different energy sources. We have learned about renewable and non-renewable energy sources and the benefits and drawbacks of each. We have learned about different energy sources generated in different countries and that energy can be traded with other countries around the world.
In our lesson today, we received a message from an urban planner who was planning to design and build a new city. We listened to information about the area he was building in and then, working with a partner, we gave a presentation to explain which energy source we thought would be best to use according to the criteria. We had to give benefits and drawbacks about our chosen energy source and consider where the energy would be set up on the site.
