In our RE lessons we are learning about Jewish worship and community. We have learned that a mezuzah is a scroll, which Jewish people keep inside a case that is fixed to the right hand side of the doorframes in their houses. On the scroll is written the Shema which is a very special Jewish prayer. Whenever a Jewish person goes through their door, they touch the mezuzah to remind themselves that God is there.

We neatly copied out part of the Shema to make a scroll and then used a template to make the case. We carefully decorated the case with Jewish symbols to make our own mezuzahs.
