To begin their new science topic, ‘States of matter’, Year 4 looked at a range of materials and tried to decide if they were an example of a solid, liquid or a gas.
They had a go at sorting first using their own knowledge, then they were given more defining qualities of each state and checked if they needed to change any of their answers. We had great discussions about some tricky examples such as sugar, sand and steam. They did really well at their sorting and have a much clearer idea on what defines each state now.
