Year 3 have been exploring volcanoes and looking into the ways in which volcanoes are formed. The children used non-fiction books to find further information. They were able to label and identify the layers of the Earth and how they each have different features. The children then looked further into the parts of a volcano. They used a model and pictures to discuss how a volcano erupts and where the magma moves through its journey when exiting the volcano. The children have really enjoyed this topic and sharing their knowledge with each other.
