In Science this term, the children in Year 6 have been learning about evolution and inheritance.
During this work, the children used Mr Men and Little Miss characters to investigate how offspring inherit characteristics from both of their parents.
They have also explored how plants and animals adapt to their environment and how this can enable a species to survive.
Before learning about evolution, the children researched Charles Darwin and his work. They then carried out an investigation into why birds have different shaped beaks and used their results to identify how adaptation can lead to evolution.
The children also used images to explore the physical appearance and skeletons of an Australopithecus Afarensis, Homo Neanderthalensis and a human to identify similarities and differences between the stages of human evolution.
