Year 3 have had a fantastic visit to Seven Stories today. We learned about why Seven Stories got its name and how it was linked to how many floors it has and different story types. We explored an exhibition which demonstrated examples of stories and how they would link to each type. We then had the opportunity to look at some of Anthony Browne’s original pieces of work and discussed how ideas might be changed and adapted before finally being printed into a book. After lunch we listened to ‘The Shape Game’ by Anthony Browne which showed how an outline can be made into a picture. We used our creativity to draw a line and imagine what type of character we could make using that as the outline. The children had a fantastic day and we learned lots of new and interesting facts.
