Year 1 have been studying the poet Jane Newberry and have enjoyed finding out about her life and work. We loved watching her perform some of her favourite poems and then listened to her explaining what makes a good poetry performance.
We learned one of our favourite Jane Newberry poems ‘Big Green Crocodile’ off by heart. Then we added actions and performance elements. When we were ready, we performed our poem in front of Year 4 who were all very impressed. Well done Year 1, what a fantastic performance!
