In our art lessons Year 2 have been looking at aboriginal art. We found out that aboriginal art consists of symbols which are used to communicate and tell stories. We tried really hard to draw some of the most frequent symbols that we spotted in paintings such as a campfire, waterhole or meeting place. Today’s job was to look closely at a section of a painting and sketch it carefully in our sketchbook using different types of lines, dots and shapes.
