Today Year 2 became glass artists for the day at Sunderland Glass Centre. First of all, we explored the gallery exhibits looking at the amazing art work and found out how artists get their inspiration. We then used our observational skills to sketch some of the glass pieces thinking about shapes and patterns. We then went to the glass workshop to watch an expert do a glass blowing demonstration and craft a stunning vase. It was fascinating to see! Our final challenge was to make our own glass art, inspired by pattern and shape.
