This week the Year 6 classroom was transformed into a workshop as the children worked on developing their wood work skills. The children began by researching common garden birds that may nest in birdhouses in their own gardens. Then they explored why people have birdhouses and the benefit they have.

After researching suitable materials, the children created their own designs and followed them carefully during the construction of their birdhouse. They developed lots of practical skills including measuring, cutting and hammering and are looking forward to seeing them hanging in their gardens at home.
