Minibeast Mad!

by Miss Thompson | May 17, 2023 | Art and Design, Early Years Foundation Stage, Geography, Latest News, PSHE, Science

Nursery and Reception have been learning all about minibeasts! We have read the story ‘Mad About Minibeasts’ and ‘Matisse’s Magical Trail’. We have been ‘painting with paper’ like the artist Henri Matisse. We used tracing paper to trace over a minibeast and then used collage paper to decorate it. We used magnifying glasses on our light box to explore the preserved real life minibeasts. Finally, we went on a minibeast hunt around the school grounds! We found a range of minibeasts including butterflies, woodlouse, ants and slugs.
