As part of the Coronation celebrations, Year 5 and 6 learnt about the artist Chuck Close, who made large scale photorealistic and abstract portraits of himself and others. The children were then given a challenge to produce a picture of King Charles III in the style of the artist. Each child created an A4 section of the picture. Alone, each piece looks like abstract patterns but through clever use of colour, when put together the parts create the portrait.
