This week as part of our STEM week, Year 1 and 2 became botanists with Mel from NUSTEM. Botanists study plants and their environments. They study how plants live and grow. We investigated a plant called a Venus flytrap. It was fascinating learning facts about this unusual plant and looking closely at the different parts. We produced observational drawings and tried really hard to use a magnifying glass to look closely at the plant. We also made our own Venus flytrap which certainly needed a lot of concentration and patience.
We found out botanists are extremely observant, curious and creative.
