As part of Science Week, Years 5 and 6 took part in an exciting project led by the Royal Air Force.

In the morning, we completed a ‘Space Challenge’. We became Royal Air Force engineers – designing and building space rockets. Whilst testing our creations, we were able to make suitable adjustments to ensure our rockets were aero dynamic and able to travel a fair distance across the classroom – one even landed on the light fitting!
After lunch, we learned about sustainability and got busy designing a sustainable aircraft for the future. Our designs will be entered into a competition with some fabulous prizes so fingers crossed we win.
