Today, Key Stage 2 welcomed solar physicist, Dr Tim Duckenfield to school to tell us all about his work and answer questions we had sent him.

Tim explained that he can look at the sun through lots of different scopes and filters in order to find out more about how hot it is and what it is made of. Since we cannot go to the surface to study it, we must use lots of maths and science here on Earth to answer all our questions.

Tim shared that his job allows him to travel the world and meet new people who share his passion for the sun and urged us all to always try our best and pursue our interests.
Thank you to NUSTEM for organising the visit and Tim for sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm!
