As part of our work on perimeter, we looked today at a range of rectilinear shapes. We made our own shapes out of matchsticks and lollypop sticks and measured their perimeters in these units.
We realised we could make a range of shapes that looked very different, but all had the same perimeter.
We also had a go at making some capital letters out of our materials and measuring their perimeter. It was tricky to keep the shapes made of straight lines and right angles but we did a really good job!
