This has been such a busy half term for us and we have been learning about a lot of new topics. Both Nursery and Reception started this term by learning all about Chinese New Year. Nursery have then been focusing on traditional tales, which included The Three Billy Goats Gruff, Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and The Three Bears. Nursery have been amazing at recalling these stories by using props in the role play area and are able to sequence them showing the order. Meanwhile, Reception have read How to Catch a Star , which they helped to sequence from a story map and enjoyed discovering all about Space. They enjoyed using our role play, where they could be Astronauts and develop their literacy skills by naming and spelling the planets as well as counting back from 10 to blast off to Outer Space. Both Nursery and Reception have also made rockets using various media and materials. We have both done so much on shape and subitising, while Reception have also been using composition and exploring more or less. We celebrated Valentine’s day together, by making our own crafts and speaking about who we love. In this half term we were also very lucky and have loved having Gemma from Little Movers in to help us do our exercises and keep us fit. We have all been absolute super stars and have worked enormously hard.
