Nursery and Reception have currently been learning about Chinese New Year. We have learnt about their traditional Chinese clothing, dances and music that they use and had a go ourselves at making a dragon from junk modelling to preform the dragon dance with musical instruments. In the classroom, we had fun dressing up in traditional Chinese clothing, colouring in Chinese lanterns, practising our numbers using Chinese writing and the best part; We got to try Chinese food and had a mini feast which consisted of noodles, spring rolls and prawn crackers. We also learnt that this year is the year of the rabbit and found out that every year is represented by a certain animal. We also found out which animal zodiac we were born under which was very interesting. We loved learning about Chinese New Year!
