Today, we have put ourselves into the shoes of Stanley Yelnats, the main character in the text Holes. We identified key events in the text and created freeze frames to represent his reactions to the events. This helped us to choose vocabulary to describe his emotions. Next, we went outside to try and dig a hole 5ft wide and 5ft deep like Stanley is expected to do each day in the book – we didn’t get very far!
