On Tuesday, Year 6 entered the classroom to find a series of items scattered around the room with police markers. As soon as they saw the first item they were all very excited to see what had happened. Below is a photo of the items in the classroom.

Year 6 decided that they needed to know what had happened and wanted to investigate the crime scene. Together we looked at each of the clues and made inferences about them. There was much discussion and theories about what had happened. It was lovely to see the class engaged and chatting about the clues. After studying the clues in the classroom, we still were unsure what it was all about. We decided to go explore outside in the school grounds to see if they were any more clues. Again, Year 6 had great fun hunting for clues. After a long search they did find one last clue outside the Year 6 room. Eventually, the secret was revealed when they realised they were going to be reading Macbeth. We looked at the front cover of Macbeth and using our inference skills made a prediction about what was going to happen using the cover and the clues. We are all excited about reading Macbeth!
