In art this term, Year 4 are learning about the artist, Sonia Delauney. We are currently focussing on her portrait style. We looked at her use of unrealistic and unnatural colours to create shading and provide emotion to her paintings, and her use of broad, bold brushstrokes.
We then tried to sketch our favourite example of her portrait style, and added colour with oil pastels to try and limit our ability to blend our colours. I think you’ll agree, they did a fantastic job!
