In English, Year 6 are reading Cogheart by Peter Bunzl. One of the main characters Malkin, makes a daring escape from an attacked airship and flees through the forest. Year 6 completed a fantastic piece of writing developing Malkin’s character during his escape. To accompany this piece of writing and the text, Year 6 completed some atmospheric art.
They started by drawing the moon and used charcoal to create shadows around it. They then added the trees using charcoal and used white chalk to add ’moonlight reflection’ to the tree and branches. Then they filled in the gaps and added their own personal touch to it.
The final pieces they produced are incredible. Well done Year 6!
