Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people, and to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively. This year, Safer Internet Day celebrated with the theme ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’. In school this year, each class was encouraged to take part in discussions and debates about various online scenarios. They then completed their own personal pledge to make the internet a safer, more respectful place.
Year 2 talked about being nice to our friends online when playing games.
Years 5 and 6 had lots of debates and discussions about how they can look after each other online and the importance of reporting other users when they feel something is not right.
