We have been learning how to convert between different units of measurement. Today we focused on estimating, measuring and converting metres and kilometres. Using a trundle wheel, we measured and recorded a distance of 100 metres on our school yard. Then using our knowledge that 1000 metres is equal to 1 kilometre, we calculated if we ran this route 10 times, we would cover a distance equal to 1 kilometre. Despite an extremely exhausting maths lesson, we all agreed it was fun way to help us understand how to convert metres and kilometres.
