To help us to learn to read the phase 5 sounds and to read tricky words, Mrs Oram set up a relay race. Each relay baton had 2 words written on it and there was a set of 12 batons for each team. Mrs Oram called out a word, one person from each team had to run to the end of the hall, find the baton with the correct word on it and it bring it back to beat the other teams. If the person looking for the baton was finding it difficult, the rest of the team could write the word on a whiteboard and hold it up to help their teammate. We had a brilliant time even though we were puffed out by the end!
