Year 3 have been finding out which different objects are magnetic. Firstly we made predictions of which ones we thought would be attracted to the magnet. We thought that most of the metal objects would be magnetic. We then used the magnets to see which objects were magnetic. We then recorded our information in a table or an intersecting Venn diagram. We were surprised to find that the 1 pence coin was magnetic but the 5 pence coin was not. We learned that not all metals are magnetic.
