Today, Year 3 have remembered a very important piece of local history during their class assembly. They told us that over 6,000 Belgians fled their country because of war and made their home in a village called Elisabethville, Birtley between 1916 to 1918.

All of the children spoke clearly and confidently to inform us of these past events and remind us that many refugees are in need of help across the world today.
