It’s science week in school this week and as part of this Year 2 became botanists for the afternoon. Joe from NUSTEM talked to us about the qualities that you need to be a good scientist and then he told us how we were going to become botanists.
First we used our eyes to look at a Venus flytrap and talked about what we could see, next we used a magnifying glass which made the plant look bigger so we could see things we hadn’t been able to see with just our eyes.
Finally we used a USB microscope attached to a tablet to take a really close up look at both the plant and the soil. We were amazed by what we saw.
